Printing and placing QR cards
The QR card is the whole front door of the guest experience. A card that is easy to find and easy to scan is the difference between a guest who asks and a guest who calls the desk.
01Sizes and printing
Each room's card is generated as a print-ready file at a size that scans cleanly from arm's length. A tent card on the desk or a small framed card by the bed both work well; avoid shrinking it below about 3 cm square, where phone cameras start to struggle in low light.
Print on matte stock if you can — a glossy card catches room lighting and reflects it back into the camera.
02Where to place them
Put the card where a guest is already looking: the bedside table, the desk, or eye level behind the door. One clear card beats three scattered ones.
A short line of copy above the code — “Scan for room service, housekeeping and more” — noticeably lifts the first scan, because it tells the guest what they will get.
03A damaged or missing card
If a card is torn, stained or goes missing, reprint it from Rooms. The reprinted card carries the same room token, so nothing about the room or any active guest session changes.
You only need a new token if you suspect the code was copied off-property — see “Regenerating a QR token”.
