Adding, disabling and renumbering rooms

Rooms change — a floor closes for renovation, numbers get reworked, a suite is split. Here is what each change does to the QR code and to a guest who is mid-stay.

01Adding a room

A new room gets its own QR token the moment you create it. Print the card and place it; there is nothing else to configure for the room to start taking requests.

02Disabling a room

Disable a room when it is out of service — renovation, a maintenance hold, or a floor you have closed. Scanning a disabled room's code shows the guest a polite “this room isn't available” message instead of the portal, and no requests can be raised.

Disabling keeps the room and its history; it does not delete anything. Re-enable it and the same card works again.

03Renumbering, and the active guest

Renumbering changes the label staff and guests see, not the underlying token, so the printed card in the room keeps working and any guest currently in the room keeps their session.

If you physically move a card to a different door, reprint from the new room instead — the card belongs to the room it was generated for.
